Consultative Stakeholder Engagement Meeting
Northern Innovation Lab in partnership with Ghana Tech Lab under the Pathway to Sustainable Employment Project is organizing a Consultative Stakeholder Meeting in North East Region. This meeting is to collate consensus on the potential and the role of web development technology in the local digital economy and also how it propels youth employment in communities.
This meeting seeks to bring key stakeholders together to outline the skills gap, challenges, opportunities, strategies, and collective policies for transforming the local economy to achieve sustainable development through digital skills and entrepreneurship. Based on Ghana Tech Lab previous feedback, this engagement has proven to be essential for growth and sustainability.
The meeting among other outcomes is focused on driving conversations on the local level and ideating key solutions and bridging the skills gap. This engagement is pivotal to delivering a policy document that would feed into the development of a well-structured and informed curriculum and ultimately, a roadmap for achieving a local digital economy through a digital media transformation in Ghana.
Digital media has had a significantly broad and complex impact on society and culture. Digital media as a key digital skill has expanded the revenue and reach of organizations, startups, and companies in the last two decades. This year, stakeholders are divided in to six pillars to discuss issues and what they can do about them. This six pillars are; Human Capital, Support Infrastructure and Hubs, Accessible Market, Media and Culture, Access to Finance and Government and Regulatory bodies.
There will be a forum discussion whereby stakeholders will be nominated to have a presentation on a given topic each. Under each pillar, attendees will identify three key challenges and corresponding three (3) key Policy solutions (local and national) to help promote digital media for a digital economy.
This meeting is to take place on the 15th April, 2021 at the West Mamprusi Municipal Assembly Hall, North East region, Walewale. The meeting starts at 10am prompt and ends at 12pm.
